2012 Lucas & Lewellen Valley View Cabernet Sauvignon (Santa Barbara) $27.99 SRP
A true Bordeaux blend. 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petite Verdot, 7% Malbec. Aging was carried out in French oak barrels. This ripe, well-sculpted Cabernet in the Bordeaux tradition is saturated in color. Aromas of leather, deep dark fruit, chocolate, anise, and India spices lead to a fresh, fruity finish of spicy oak. This elegant wine will benefit from up to seven or eight years of additional cellaring.
2012 Neal Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa) $59.99 SRP
100% Cabernet Sauvignon from small berry vineyards (St. Helena, Howell Mtn. and Rutherford). Very dark in color with a moderately high amount of velvety tannins, creating a firm, complex mouthful of flavors. The cherry and berry fruit flavors mimic the aromas and create a sense of sweetness, although there is no residual sugar. The youthful tannin along with nutmeg and other baking spices linger in a long, pleasant finish. Great for cellaring or drinking after a short decant.
2013 Robert Keenan Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa) $59.99 SRP
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep and powerful from the get go, with beams of supporting tannin and acidity that give the wine its sense of proportion. There is plenty of nuance in the dark fruit, along with terrific aromatic complexity… This is another terrific example of the vintage.
2012 Laird Family Estate Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa) $64.99 SRP
The enticing violet appearance offers a developing bouquet of ripe Bing cherry, currant, charred oak and unsweetened chocolate. Deep velvety tannins are balanced with bright notes of juicy plum, fresh tobacco, and coffee beans on the palate. An elegant smooth full mouth leads to a delicate and lingering finish.
