Notes from your Fairlawn Heights Neighborhood Association

Welcome  New Members and Neighbors

Welcome to our new members and our new residents.  We hope that you enjoy living here as much as we do.  Fairlawn Heights offers so many great things, including diversity in ethnicity, age, and lifestyle.  We share mutual respect and support:  Your neighbors are known for reaching out and helping each other when needed.

Fairlawn Heights Neighborhood Association’s mission is to “provide a forum to express and discuss issues of concern to the homeowners of Fairlawn Heights, to engage with appropriate governmental authorities to resolve matters of concern to the residents of Fairlawn Heights, to enhance community awareness in order to maintain the neighborhood’s culture and environment and to protect property values.”

More information can be found on our website, https://www.fairlawnheightsakron.org.

Neighbors’ Concerns
In the past few weeks, FHNA members have shared concerns with the FHNA Board:

  • Evening Noise:  With the good weather, neighbors are enjoying outdoor evening time (neighborhood walks, outside dining, etc.).  Please be considerate of evening noise levels that include yard maintenance, construction, music, etc.  Many neighbors are enjoying the evening’s quiet as early as 6 PM.
  • Posted Speed Limits: Speeding continues to be a concern for residents.  Please follow the posted speed limit of 25 MPH
  • Neighborhood Safety:  Fairlawn Heights is a very safe neighborhood.  Akron police officers are very supportive.  Recently, there was an incident of a man behaving inappropriately in a car when a female walker stopped to answer his question.  The person was reported, and we remind you (via the police officers):  Do not approach a car when a person asks you, in any way, to approach; walk in the opposite direction and call 911.  It would be very helpful if you could use your mobile phone to capture the car’s license plate number.

Quarterly Meeting
Our next quarterly meeting is July 7 at 6:30 PM.  We will send an email that will give information on the format. Everyone is welcome, and we would love to introduce you!
