FAIRLAWN HEIGHTS NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES QUARTERLY MEETING
Candidates’ Round Table

Fairlawn Heights:  The Fairlawn Heights Neighborhood Association (FHNA) invites all residents of Fairlawn Heights to attend its Quarterly Meeting, Tuesday, April 9, at 6:30p.m., at Resnick Community Learning Center, 65 N. Meadowcroft Dr, Akron.  The meeting is for FHNA members and non-members – anyone living in Fairlawn Heights.

The organization will sponsor a Round Table discussion with the four primary candidates vying to represent Ward 8 in Akron City Council:  Republicans Greg Dunham and Brian Fortney and Democrats Shammas Malik and Dr. Curtis Walker.  Each candidate will make a brief presentation and then respond to questions. If possible, the Round Table will be livestreamed on the FHNA Facebook page.

Joining area residents at the meeting will be 8th Ward Councilwoman Marilyn Keith.

In addition to the guests, there will be a brief business meeting during which the FHNA will share treasurer and committee reports from the Association and announce upcoming 2019 events and initiatives.

According to its mission statement, the FHNA is created to “provide a forum to express and discuss issues of concern to the homeowners of Fairlawn Heights, to engage with appropriate governmental authorities to resolve matters of concern to the residents of Fairlawn Heights, to enhance community awareness in order to maintain the neighborhood’s culture and environment and to protect property values.”

Any homeowner within the geographic area of Fairlawn Heights is welcome to join.

Membership is not required to attend the meeting; however, residents are encouraged to support the organization with both dues and time.  Annual membership is $25 per household per year, and committees include Membership/Finance, Safety, Social/Welcoming, Grounds, and Marketing/Communications.  Membership information, as well as general information about Fairlawn Heights and FHNA can be found on the Association’s website at www.fairlawnheightsakron.org
