Fairlawn Heights Neighborhood Association (FHNA) invites all residents of Fairlawn Heights to attend its quarterly meeting on Tuesday, 10-April, at 6:30 PM, at the Judith A Resnik CLC, 65 N Meadowcroft Dr.  The meeting is for FHNA members and non-members.

Speakers

  • Josey Jones and Mac Love: @PLAY Akron is an 18-month initiative funded by the Knight Foundation to bring an interactive art experience to all 24 Akron neighborhoods. As a portion of the @PLAY initiative, playwrights Katie Beck of Gum-Dip Theatre and Josy Jones of The Chameleon Village Theatre Collective, teamed up to write a play about Akron by interviewing residents from all 24 neighborhoods. By covering subjects like childhood memories, Akron pride and even hopes for Akron’s future, they hope to celebrate local identity and encourage deeper community connections.
  • Nicolle Mullet, Executive Director of Akron Arts Now:  Connecting Arts, Culture, and Community in Summit County.  She’ll be discussing her organization’s mission to bring art and culture of all kinds to Akron’s neighborhoods and the possibilities for public art in Fairlawn Heights.  Arts Now also sponsors the website SummitLive365, a community calendar of upcoming events in our region.
  • Marilyn Keith: 8thWard Councilwoman, will speak and answer questions about the neighborhood or Akron in general.

FHNA is created to “provide a forum to express and discuss issues of concern to the homeowners of Fairlawn Heights, to engage with appropriate governmental authorities to resolve matters of concern to the residents of Fairlawn Heights, to enhance community awareness in order to maintain the neighborhood’s culture and environment and to protect property values.”
